Side To Eat Video Series

Nourish At Home, LLC

These Terms and Conditions for the Side To Eat Video Series by Nourish At Home, LLC are made and entered into as of the date of last signature below (the "Effective Date"), by and between Nourish At Home, LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the state of Montana with its principal place of business at PO BOX 396 Kila, MT 59920 (hereinafter referred to as "we" or “us”), and the individual or entity identified on the signature page hereto (hereinafter referred to as "you").

By purchasing this series, creating an account, accessing the content, or agreeing to these Terms and Conditions at checkout, you agree to the following:

1. Educational Purposes Only.

This video series is for educational purposes only; it is not feeding therapy. Specifically, by agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree and understand that:

  • There is no clinician-client relationship. This purchase does not establish a clinical, therapeutic, or medical relationship between you and Nourish At Home.

  • This is not medical advice. The information provided is designed to support feeding development for typically developing infants without feeding disorders and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment for a medical and/or feeding disorder. It may not be appropriate for babies with known or suspected swallowing disorders, aspiration, prematurity-related complications, cardiac or respiratory conditions, complex medical needs, poor weight gain, significant reflux, tube feeding, cleft palate, oral anomalies, or other medical or developmental concerns without individualized guidance from a qualified provider.

  • This video series is not a secure medical record system and should not be used to submit protected health information. If you schedule an individualized feeding evaluation or therapy service, separate intake forms, consent documents, privacy practices, and clinical policies will apply.

  • This is not therapy. Because we have not completed an evaluation on your baby/child, we cannot make any specific, individualized recommendations, and can only provide general information. This is not a substitute for feeding therapy because it is not feeding therapy. Because of this, we cannot answer any specific questions and will not respond to correspondence regarding therapy techniques or how to implement them.

  • You should follow all recommendations from your baby’s medical providers. If anything in this video series conflicts with guidance from your pediatrician, feeding therapist, lactation provider, or other medical professional, you should follow the guidance of your baby’s treating provider.

  • If you have concerns about your baby’s growth, development, oral feeding, or swallowing skills or safety, please consult with your medical provider, or seek a full feeding evaluation with a licensed speech language pathologist (SLP) or occupational therapist (OT) who specializes in infant feeding disorders.

  • Nourish At Home does offer SLP feeding evaluations and therapy, which is different from this video series as previously described. You can make an appointment for a full feeding evaluation on our website. Also, you may get a full feeding evaluation from a licensed SLP at another therapy clinic. Alternatively, you may get feeding advice/intervention from various other professionals such as: Occupational Therapists, Registered Nurses, Otolaryngologists, Gastroenterologists, Registered Dieticians, and Certified Lactation Consultants, among others, as SLPs are not the only professionals qualified to comment on infant feeding development.

  • You understand that “side to eat” is referring to when a baby is feeding and should NOT be used for sleeping.

2. Red Flags

The following signs and symptoms are considered “red flags” and warrant evaluation with your pediatrician, and/or other medical work up, and/or a full feeding evaluation with an SLP or OT.

Red flags include, but are not limited to:

  • poor intake

  • poor weight gain

  • difficulty staying awake for feedings

  • feedings consistently shorter than 5 minutes or longer than 30 minutes

  • poor interest in feeding or limited hunger cues

  • forceful vomiting

  • bloody or green spit-up

  • persistent refusal or arching away from feeding

  • excessively weak, ineffective or inconsistent sucking

  • excessive milk loss out the mouth

  • persistent coughing, choking, sputtering, gasping, squeaking, or wet airway sounds

  • hard, loud, or labored breathing

  • sudden loss of body tone

  • color change

  • needing to feed only while asleep

  • needing to force feeds to meet volume goals

In addition, strong parental concern is also associated with pediatric feeding disorders. If you are concerned, or unsure, speak with your medical provider and seek out an evaluation for your baby/child. Likewise, if you see red flags, get an appropriate evaluation for your baby/child.

3. Assumption of Risk

You understand that feeding involves inherent risks (such as choking or aspiration). You agree that you are responsible for the safety of your child while implementing any techniques shown. Nourish At Home is not liable for any injury or adverse event that may occur while using the information in this series. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you release Nourish At Home from any liability related to your use, misuse, interpretation, or misinterpretation of these educational techniques. Further, you acknowledge that this video series is not intended for emergencies or urgent feeding concerns. If your baby is having difficulty breathing, turns blue or pale, becomes limp, is choking, has signs of dehydration, or you are concerned about your baby’s immediate safety, call 911 or seek emergency medical care.

Upon purchase, you are granted one (1) non-transferable, non-exclusive license to view the content for personal, non-commercial use.

  • No Sharing: You agree not to share your login credentials with others.

5.  Limitation of Liability.

Disclaimer of Warranties. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT, WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE SERVICES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
